The Ecuadorian Corrosion Association (AEC) and the NACE International Quito section, together with the sponsorship of our headquarters in Ecuador (Grupo Testek Ecuador), held a Workshop on Thursday, August 1 to talk about the monitoring and inspection of corrosion in the industries of Ecuador. The event had free admission, with a duration of eight hours, where 39 professionals and technicians from the oil, gas, mining and inspection companies attended to discuss the impact of corrosion on industry and construction.
The objective of the Workshop was to detect the needs and requirements of the industry to evaluate and prevent corrosion, presenting them with cutting-edge equipment that meets their needs and thus, and be able to extend the useful life of their infrastructures, so that they can ensure their operational continuity avoiding stoppages not scheduled.
During the conference, topics were discussed about the problem of corrosion in industry and its consequences, corrosion investigations in the Sierra and Costa areas, specifically in Quito and Guayaquil; anecdotes from the participants about the problems with corrosion and what solutions they are applying; presentation and demonstration of Fischer thickness gauges and solutions based on corrosion prevention with a film galvanizing system.
In the presentation and exhibition of Fischer equipment, the engineer Danilo Bittar attended as a representative of that company, who was conducting demonstrations with the thickness gauges, accompanied by the General Manager of Grupo Testek Ecuador, Engineer Marco Moncerrate.
